Trip to Penang 7-9 March 2009
|
|
First outing of the year to Batu Ferringhi, Penang. We stayed at the Holiday Inn.
Had fun playing by the beach, by the pool. Enjoyed the night market, which is every night along the roadside.
Oh yes, we went to Bukit Bendera too.

Cuti-cuti Malaysia
|
|
We spent our new year's weekend at my hubby's hometown at Muar. We bring along my mom, my grandma and my lil bro .
Went to my junior's (at uni) wedding at Alor Gajah on Saturday (Zulaikha and Khairul). I was not invited officially by the bride, but the invitation came from his brother, who is hubby's officemate.  The brother and hubby are quite close and we already went to their house at Alor Gajah a few times already. Zulaikha is also my colleague in the company, so I met many of other juniors from uni and colleagues from office at her wedding.
After the wedding, we visited our relative at Klebang Kecil and then we went to the Zoo. Since it's already close to the closing time, we just lepak at the surrounding area. 
Visiting our relative at Batu Pahat on Sunday. Went back to KL on Monday.

Lily & Hafiz at Kulim
|
|
We went to Kulim last weekend for my cousin Lily's reception at the groom's side. We started our journey after Subuh on Saturday morning, and arrived at Kulim around noon. Went straight to Hotel Seri Malaysia, where my auntie stayed the night before to freshen up.
The reception was at Dewan Bandaran Kulim. Stuffed ourselves with food , took tons of pictures of the couple and of us. We stayed for a night in Kulim at Poon Soon Motel which is not exactly a motel but a single storey semi-d house actually. Not sure why it is named that way.
The next day, since we were already up north, we decided to bring my family to Sungai Petani for lunch at Radix Fried Chicken  before heading back to KL.

Outing to Bukit Merah
|
|
Date: 24-26 October 2008
Venue: Bukit Merah Laketown Resort
Went for another outing to Bukit Merah this time. Arrived there late Friday afternoon and immediately checked in. After dinner, went straight to bed after a long drive north.
Hubby had a half-day seminar on Saturday, so Alesha and I just went for window shopping while waiting for lunch. We planned to hit the water park after lunch, but unfortunately Alesha was having a bad mood and after we put her to sleep, the parents also took a nap .
We went out again after Asar, and since it was too late to enter the water park, we decided to check out the recreational activities at the lake.
On our last day there, we went for a tour to Orang Utan Island. Very informative and we enjoyed it there. Checked out at noon and we went further up north to Sungai Petani to check out Radix Fried Chicken . It's the first of it's kind in Malaysia and the only outlet is at SP. So since we were already up north, we decided to try it out. The taste? i'd say...worth the trip 
On our way back, we went beraya at Fakhrur's house at Bertam and my uncle's house at Rawang. Arrived home close to midnight  . Tired but satisfied and happy

Raya Diaries 2008-Muar
|
|
After a week of raya in Kuching, it's turn to beraya in Muar.
Went to atok's house in Semerah, as well as in Muar itself.
The rest, we just went to a few aunties and uncles's houses.

Raya Diaries - Kuching 2008

1 Syawal
Since Miss Genit is so called older and wiser now, it’s so hard to take a family pic All she cared is adik Ameer, my first nephew, Mohamad Ameer Amzar, born on 17th September 2008 (17 Ramadhan). We didn’t go out much since my father’s friends are coming to our house. But I did visit my best friend who is heavily pregnant right now.
2 Syawal
Went beraya at a few relatives house before going to Serian, visiting our family from my father’s side. Spent the whole afternoon there, before going back to Kuching and continuing beraya at my uncles’ houses.
3 Syawal
Only beraya at 1 of my auntie’s, since Mak Nah and family arrived in Kuching today, and using different flights some more, so most of the times were spent going back and forth to the airport. Hubby and I volunteered to fetch mak nah on the later flight. So after Asar, we went out, but we went shopping first at the latest shopping mall in Kuching “The Spring” since it’s just located en route to the airport. Bought some belated birthday gift for mama and advanced birthday gift for bapak. And we were very late arriving at the airport and got a lecture from mak nah. 
4 Syawal
Went to photo studio, to take our family photo, together with Mak Nah’s and Usu Zan’s family. After that, we went to series of open houses at my uncles and aunties’ houses. More eating
5 Syawal
Stayed at home packing and went out to buy kek lapis to bring back to KL. Our flight was scheduled at 850 pm that night. 
It will be another 2 years before it’s my turn in Kuching again. Guess what, I’m already looking forward for the next raya in Kuching. Insya Allah.

Mila & Pali - Part 2 (Majlis Sambut Menantu)

Date: 23rd August 2008
Venue: Kg Baru Puchong, Chenor, Pahang
A simple "kampung style" reception. No fuss, no frill.
Special dish, of course is ikan patin masak tempoyak
We stayed overnight at budget room (homestay style) across Hospital Temerloh.
After checked out the next day, went straight to Pali's house. After enjoying our food and relaxed a bit, we made our move back to KL .
By the way, Salam Ramadhan al-Mubharak to all Muslim friends wherever you are
